Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome

WHO? Growing adolescents WHAT? Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome is a knee condition affecting growing adolescents. It causes pain at the front of the knee below the patella (knee cap) at the point at which the patella tendon attaches to the tibial tuberosity (on the shin bone). The pain is usually aggravated during weight bearing or physical activity. WHEN? Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome may affect both girls and boys and is often associated with a high level of activity.
